Riverdale, NY (November 13, 2024) – Methodist Home for Nursing & Rehabilitation, located in Riverdale, NY, is proud to announce that it has been recognized as one of the nation’s best nursing homes for 2025 by both Newsweek and U.S. News & World Report. The Home has earned accolades for excellence in care, being named to Newsweek’s list of “America’s Best Nursing Homes” and receiving the highest possible rating—“High Performing”—from U.S. News & World Report for both long-term care and short-term rehabilitation. Additionally, Methodist Home is a five-star rated facility by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), underscoring its commitment to providing outstanding care.
These prestigious recognitions come after an extensive evaluation of nursing homes across the country, taking into account key performance metrics such as health inspections, staffing levels, resident satisfaction, and overall quality of care provided. Methodist Home’s recognition is a testament to its exceptional services and dedication to the well-being of its residents.
“We are incredibly honored to receive these distinguished recognitions from both Newsweek and U.S. News & World Report,” said Maria Perez, Administrator & CEO of Methodist Home for Nursing & Rehabilitation. “These awards reflect our team’s hard work and commitment to providing the highest standard of care. We are particularly proud of our strong track record in helping residents achieve meaningful recovery, with excellent success rates in discharging individuals who no longer require skilled nursing care, allowing many to transition successfully to lower levels of care such as assisted living or independent living.”
The Rankings
Newsweek evaluated over 14,000 nursing homes nationwide, recognizing only 1,050 as “America’s Best.” In New York State, where more than 600 facilities are located, only 69 earned this distinction. These rankings are based on a variety of factors, including staffing, health inspections, reputation, and resident satisfaction, as compiled by the research firm Statista.
U.S. News & World Report assessed over 15,000 nursing homes, awarding its highest rating of “High Performing” to only 19% of facilities in either long-term care or short-term rehabilitation. The rankings are determined by staffing levels, health outcomes, resident feedback, and adherence to federal standards.
In addition to these recognitions, Methodist Home holds a five-star rating from CMS, the highest possible rating awarded to nursing homes based on health inspections, quality measures, staffing levels, and more. This CMS distinction further reinforces the facility’s commitment to excellence in care.
A Commitment to Excellence
Methodist Home for Nursing & Rehabilitation’s comprehensive approach to care has consistently yielded outstanding outcomes for residents. “Our dedicated team of professionals is committed to providing individualized care that maximizes each resident’s potential for recovery,” said Perez. “Whether it’s physical therapy, occupational therapy, or specialized support for chronic conditions, our goal is to provide the best possible outcomes for every resident.”
