The holiday season is a time to come together, celebrate traditions, and create memories that warm the heart. For our residents, families, and staff, this time of year is about embracing the festive spirit and making every moment special.

As a non-sectarian organization, we recognize the diversity of our residents by celebrating holidays together at the Methodist Home. Throughout the year, our events and activities honor different religions and traditions – all while ensuring comfort, care, and community.

Festive Activities to Spread Holiday Cheer

Our home comes alive with the spirit of the season, offering a variety of holiday celebrations and activities that bring joy to all. The festive season starts with holiday decorating, transforming shared spaces into a winter wonderland filled with lights, ornaments, and cheerful decor.

Everyone gathers together for the annual Christmas tree lighting and karaoke event, where music and laughter fill the air. For those who celebrate Hanukkah, our menorah lighting ceremony is a meaningful tradition also celebrated here at the Methodist Home.

The season continues with thoughtful events like staff lunches or socials, a time to celebrate the teamwork and dedication of those who care for the residents. Volunteer carolers and musicians from local churches and organizations bring traditional holiday songs to life.

Our residents also enjoy outings throughout the season. These vary per schedules and weather, but a bus tour to see tree lights around our community or a special trip to the theatre to watch a performance of “The Nutcracker” are popular options. Finally, our big Christmas party is always a highlight featuring food, music, and fellowship.

There’s something truly magical about celebrating the holidays in New York, and we love helping to bring this magic to life. We provide residents with a peaceful and comfortable setting while staying close to the iconic holiday traditions of our area. Our holiday events and activities are designed to create a vibrant and inclusive atmosphere to reduce feelings of isolation and foster a sense of belonging and connection during the holidays.

A Home Away From Home

While everyone loves a good party, the holiday season isn’t just about events. It’s about creating a comfortable and nurturing environment where residents feel truly at home. Each of our residents enjoys the privacy of their own room, providing them with the personal space and dignity that is especially important during such a meaningful and reflective time of year.

In addition to its warm, inviting atmosphere, the Methodist Home is a five-star rated facility known for giving exceptional care to everyone who stays with us. From short-term rehabilitation and skilled nursing care to long-term care, residents receive individualized attention to meet their physical, emotional, and social needs. This commitment to quality care ensures that our residents can focus on recovery or enjoy their golden years without missing out on the holiday cheer.

Celebrating Community and Connection

At the heart of the Methodist Home’s holiday celebrations is the understanding that the season is about more than just decorations and events. It’s about fostering connections and creating moments of joy and togetherness. For residents who may not have the ability to travel or celebrate in their own homes, we offer a combination of comfort and celebration.

Families are always welcome to join the festivities, making it easy to create lasting memories with loved ones. Whether gathered around the Christmas tree or enjoying the sounds of carolers, these moments remind everyone of the importance of community during the holiday season.

Whether celebrating Christmas, Hanukkah, or simply the season of giving, the Methodist Home is a place where joy, love, and community come together.
